We adopted Berta & Feynman after we’d lost our previous cat. Berta was 7 months old and Feynman was estimated as being 3-5-year-old. We ended up taking Berta home first because Feynman took some luring to get him in the carrier. We went back to get him the next day and the MEOW staff on duty realized there was another grey stowaway in the carrier with Feynman, so there was some more fun trying to get the stowaway out and re-catching Feynman.
Berta has had cattitude from day 1, and Feynman blossomed from not even letting us pet him to being the most loving and snuggly cat we’ve ever had. He never met a person that he didn’t like.
Berta’s turning 10 in June, and she’s now a big sister to our newest MEOW addition, Darwin (MEOW name Penne). She loves wand toys, cat grass, the heated cat bed, mom snuggles, delivering toys and slippers around the house, singing the song of her people as loud as possible to announce the deliveries. Berta doesn’t like getting up early on Monday mornings.
We lost Feynman to a brain tumour in 2024, but we cherish all of the memories that we made with him. He loved wet food, napping in sunbeams, watching TV while snuggling on the couch, head butts, and chittering at birds.
Congrats on 25 meowtastic years!
