Dempsey is the cat to meet! He was rescued in an area with many stray cats and thanks to an area cat lover, he was monitored and eventually crated for the trip to MEOW. This is mating season in Calgary and as an intact male, Dempsey was following his instinct to roam and mate, even when the temperatures are dangerously low. Gingey lived his best life as a TNR cat for a few years, but after experiencing some dental issues - a full mouth extraction, Gingey cat is now living his best toothless life at MEOW. Three cheers for Chick! This lucky little stray managed to find a kind Calgarian to rescue him. He must have been in a few scuffles as he had some wounds on his belly, but they were minor and he is almost fully healed. He loves attention, chin scratches and rolling over to show you his fuzzy tummy. Time for Chick to find a new home!

Greetings from me, Gneiss! I am a robust senior lady who lost her home due to housing insecurity. The change was pretty dramatic for me, and yes, sometimes I am a bit dramatic, but the folks at MEOW were patient and let me adjust at my own pace. The tasty canned food paved the path for some chin and cheeks scratches and little by little, I showed everyone how cute and sweet I can be.

I definitely have things I don't like very much - such as being picked up and handled, and I do have a bit of a timer set for my affectionate moments, but hey, as a senior gal, I deserve some respect and should be allowed to set some of the rules. If you are looking for a mature companion who knows her own mind, I truly would be grateful for a second chance. If you're looking for two senior cats, my sister Arkose and I would be great companions, but I'd also be perfectly happy as the only cat in your home.

Meet our little burst of sunshine, Greer. Greer is a tweenager who was rescued in a rural area and did not have the opportunity to be raised in a home. After completion of her medical work, she is happily settled in her adoption room where she is receiving socialization tips from both humans and her feline roomies. Cats often learn to interact with humans by modelling and imitating the behaviour of their feline friends.

He is fully vetted, has had a recent dental and has a uniquely shorter tail. Our amazing little survivor came from an environment where life was tough. She had some upper respiratory symptoms which had not been treated in a timely fashion and her eyes can be a bit runny some days, but she is healthy, happy and is having a blast meeting all her feline roomies. Wanderwell has blossomed during her time at MEOW, and now happily accepts pets, playtime, and treats, lots of treats! Keeth is a really beautiful cat. We do not know if Keeth ever had a home, but we do know that he lived on the streets for some time. When he first arrived at his foster home, he was very shy. He is still shy and loud noises scare him, but likes to be petted and to spend time with his best friend, Sammee. He has become a cat who will jump up on laps for a little while before going about the rest of his day. He is a quiet boy who does not play a lot, but he does enjoy a good round of chasing with Sammee. His favourite toy is a turbo scratcher: his foster mom goes through about one a month he loves them so much!

Keeth has a condition called mega colon, which requires daily medication and prescription vet food for his entire life. The food and medication are easily attainable and is no more costly than other prescription diets and he does very well on his diet. Any adopters will need to be diligent about his vet care to ensure that he lives a long, healthy life.

I am a big and sometimes sassy guy. I prefer a quieter place of residence without other pets or kids. I have a weird love/hate relationship with bags. When you handle one it startles me, but I like to try to climb inside of them. Despite being kind of picky and oddly, I am not a big fan of Temptations treats. I have a healthy appetite and will do anything for food!

I do play with toys with you and alone but not for long. Once I settle in with you, I will try to take your spot on the couch or at worst lean on you while sitting next to you. After a couple of months I won't mind if you pick me up for some cuddles. I do like it when you kneel down on the floor to pet me; just not my stomach. I love a sunny spot to lie and will talk to the birds when they come by to visit.

Katashi has early hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy aka heart disease. He does not need any medications at this time, however he will need yearly check ups and monitoring of his heart for progression of the disease.
