Volunteer
MEOW Foundation is largely powered by volunteers. Our incredible network of hard-working and compassionate volunteers dedicate their time in a wide variety of ways, at our Adoption Centre, MEOW Charity Thrift Shop, Regal Cat Café, and beyond.
By volunteering at MEOW Foundation, you will make a difference in the lives of MEOW cats, while also joining a passionate team of volunteers and staff. Explore our available volunteer opportunities and join MEOW in making a lasting impact on the lives of cats and the people who love them.
In addition to the hands-on experience and connection-building that volunteering with MEOW offers, our volunteers can also enjoy special discounts at each of our locations. All you need to volunteer at MEOW is a bit of spare time and a love for cats.

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer at the Adoption Centre
As an Adoption Centre Volunteer, you will help with daily cat care for our cats. This includes feeding and socializing with cats, and cleaning litter boxes and kennels.
Requirements
Volunteers at our Adoption Centre must be at least 18 years old and comfortable around cats of varying temperaments. Reliable mode of transportation is an expectation.
Volunteer at MEOW Charity Thrift Shop
Volunteers are essential to every aspect of operations at MEOW Charity Thrift Shop. Our volunteers have diverse skills and assist with operations in both the front and back of the shop.
Front of Store (Cashier/Customer Service)
These volunteers offer friendly service to Thrift Shop customers and ensure that the storefront is clean and tidy. As a front-of-store volunteer, you will help complete sales using our POS system. These volunteers are also responsible for helping set up displays and filling the storefront with new items.
Back of Store (Receiver & Cleaner)
We have two separate back-of-store volunteer roles: Receivers and Cleaners. Our receiver volunteers greet donors and accept donated items. Cleaners are responsible for washing, sorting, and ensuring that donations are suitable for resale. Receivers may also assist with cleaner responsibilities.
Requirements
Thrift Shop volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Front-of-store volunteers require a police background check (paid for by MEOW) and should be comfortable standing for the duration of their volunteer shift. Receiver volunteers need to be able to lift and carry items between 20 to 35 lbs. Must be able to walk up and down a flight of stairs at the MEOW Charity Thrift Shop North location.

More Ways to Volunteer
Volunteer Crafters
Are you a passionate sewer, knitter, or crocheter? Volunteer your time and talents to MEOW by making hand-made items like pet beds and pads, catnip toys, pet hats, snuffle mats and balls, aprons, bowl cozies and more. We sell these handmade items at markets, MEOW Charity Thrift Shop, and online to help generate revenue to help fund our programs.
MEOW provides all the materials, instructions and required patterns. You provide your own sewing/serger machines as needed.
Market Volunteers
MEOW Foundation has booth space at many local markets and craft fairs. As a market volunteer, you will help with managing the booth and selling items, as well as advocating for MEOW.
Requirements
Market volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
Foster Homes Needed
As a foster home, you will provide a safe space and temporary care to cats in need. MEOW Foundation provides all foster homes with the necessary support and supplies to care for your foster cats or kittens.
Donate Financially
MEOW Foundation relies on the generosity of our donors to provide lifesaving care to cats in need. By making a financial donation, you will directly help fund our programs and support our mission. We gratefully accept all donations, and you will receive a tax receipt for any donation of $20 or more.
