Kylie

Kylie’s Got Purrsonality

Thank you for all of your work. Here is an update on my adoption of Kylie (name unchanged) from December of 2011. I went to the MEOW Foundation with my father with the intention of leaving with a black kitten. The Adoption Specialist asked if I would like to see around the facility first and I agreed. In one of the rooms on the upper level of the house, an adult female cat flung herself off of a shelf and hung onto my leg. The Adoption Specialist said that the cat was Kylie. She had been there for several months, long after her kittens had been adopted. She had a grumpy disposition at times, but seemed to want to go with me. I went to look at the black cats, but in the end we left with Kylie.

It is now 2015 and we cannot imagine life without her. She is sitting beside me as a type (she stole the office chair!). She has learned to open doorknobs, has broken several keys on the laptop, has knocked the budgie cage over several times, demands massages several times a day, climbs in the fridge to try to get leftovers and has her own ironing board to lounge on. The depth of her personality cannot be described. I had never owned a cat before and I am now obsessed with these wonderful creatures. She is still petrified of vets so a mobile vet has to come to the house. The vet confirmed that Kylie is a munchkin – I always wondered why her legs were so short!

The attached photo is one taken February 16, 2015 of Kylie watching birds out of the window.
