Angora’s Story to Her Forever Home

Dear Supporter,

Hi, I am Angora, and I have had quite the journey!! Back in the day, I was a part of MEOW Foundation’s Trap Neuter Return Program. I loved being outside, enjoying fresh air, having my own space, and doing things my way. I was lucky, though. I had a very kind human looking out for me, and they connected with MEOW Foundation to make sure I could thrive right where I was.

One day, I was scooped up — not my favourite experience, but it helped me in the long run. I was fixed, cared for, and returned right to my territory. Even though I was outdoors again, I wasn’t on my own. I had MEOW Foundation’s support for life.

For years, I was my caregiver’s “Princess.” My favourite foods always showed up; I had shelter to keep me dry, warm and safe; and a whole team had my back. Then one day, everything changed. I watched as my person’s daughter came, helped her move, and just like that, I was alone.

Lucky for me, MEOW Foundation got the call. Their team showed up the next day and took me to their loving adoption centre.

I found out I couldn’t go back to my old spot. No one was there to watch over me anymore. So, MEOW Foundation told me I was going to find a new home. I won’t lie; indoor life was really scary at first. I missed what I knew and was unsure about all the new things I needed to understand. But the people there were kind, patient, and didn’t give up on me.

Slowly, I started to adjust. Warm blankets helped. Good food helped. And having people cheer me on as I got braver made a difference. Some days were still hard, but other days were actually… pretty good.

I even made a friend, Witherspoon. We stuck close, especially when things felt overwhelming; we even snuggled up when everything became a little too much. Then one day, someone chose me. I was nervous all over again, but they chose Witherspoon, too, so we got to take that next step together.

At first, we kept to ourselves: closets, under beds, quiet corners—just taking it all in.

Now it’s been a few months, and life is… kind of amazing. I used to sneak around at night, checking everything out. This place has the best nap spots and windows to watch the world go by.

Eventually, I got brave enough to be out during the day. Now I hang out on cozy beds and perch up on the cat tree by the window. When it’s dinner time, I’m right there waiting.

I’m still not sure about being petted. Maybe one day. For now, I’m doing things my way and living a life I never expected to have.

Through every chapter, MEOW Foundation had my back. From street life to this new indoor world, they never left me behind. Every day, they help cats like me, the ones still out there and the ones who just need a little extra time and care.

Will you help them support more cats like me? Your donation supports MEOW Foundation’s cat programs, such as Trap Neuter Return, that gave me the outdoor life I loved, with the promise they would always be there for me during my life journey.
