Huxlee is a serious and observant kitten. Although he is not a big fan of new people, with time and patience you can earn his trust.Once trust is earned you will find him following you to watch what you are doing and will allow pets when he deems appropriate.Although reserved he does like a good game of chase the laser pointer, wand playing and wrestling. He is a great big brother with a big heart and will give up his toys and food to his pushy siblings. His foster family believe that he has great potential to be a loving boy. He will need a cat companion to help with his confidence and household cats will need to be vaccinated for Feline Leukemia.
From Huxlee: I need to tell you a little about my health history. I was feeling a bit ill so I was tested for Feline Leukemia. I tested positive and then negative. Odd - right?
Feline Leukemia is hard to understand. Tests can sometimes be false negative or false positive because this sneaky virus can go into regression and hide in the bone marrow. That means some cats will test positive and negative for their entire life. If a cat has progressive Leukemia, which could lead to illness and death, the tests will always be positive.
Since I tested postive and then negative, it is possible I may have the regressive form of Feline Leukemia. If I have another negative test in a few weeks, this will be good news, but MEOW cannot be 100% sure whether I will continue to be negative. This will just be who I am and I still need a loving forever family.
After all the stress of testing and waiting, I am ready to go Home 4 the Holidays.
